Lošinj, an Island of Vitality, Wild Nature, and Supreme Luxury. The Kvarner Tourist Board hosted a group of bloggers and influencers who stayed in Kvarner, exploring the destination’s diverse tourist offer. The trip was organized in cooperation with the air carrier Air Serbia, and the stay was provided on the beautiful island of Lošinj.
On the first day of our stay, after a direct Air Serbia flight on the Belgrade - Rijeka route, we headed towards the island of Lošinj. After an interesting ride that also included ferry transport, we arrived at Hotel Bellevue, where we were accommodated the whole time. The hotel is extremely attractive, modern, and luxurious, with all the facilities that ensure a high-quality and leisurely vacation. After checking in and a short break, we had a meeting with a representative of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board. We exchanged impressions and got acquainted with the destination's tourist offer at the Cigale restaurant, alongside authentic fish specialties.
On the second day of our stay, we had the pleasure of enjoying an adrenaline speedboat ride to the nearby island of Susak. The island covers an area of 3.8 square kilometers, and it is an ideal destination if you are interested in a vacation without crowds and people. This mysterious island invites tourists to come and rest their souls, to recharge their batteries in a unique natural detoxification. There are not many roads on the island, and the entire area has been declared a cycling zone. On the way to the island, we had the opportunity to enjoy the cleanest sea we had seen until then, to swim in wild coves, and to visit a part that, due to its picturesqueness, sea color, and sand, is called the Croatian Maldives.
After returning and taking a break, we toured the facilities offered by the Lošinj Hotels & Villas group with our hosts, after which we reached the Lanterna restaurant via the promenade, located right on the cliff by the sea. With a glass of wine and specialties, both meat and fish, we end the day tanned from the sun and full of impressions.
The next day was reserved for a visit to Mali Lošinj. With a representative of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board, we first visited the Dolphin Watching Tour, from where we headed out to the open sea on a designated boat to see dolphins in the wild. The ride lasted a little over two hours, and our expectations were not disappointed, as we all saw dolphins swimming in the wild for the first time. In addition to that, we visited the other most interesting attractions of the city, such as the Fragrant Garden (Miomirisni vrt). It is a garden, a yard with island medicinal herbs, where, accompanied by an expert guide, we got acquainted with the rich flora of the island, the medicinal properties of the herbs, and bought authentic island souvenirs. One of the most important facilities is the Museum of Apoxyomenos, an unusual archaeological-architectural cultural institution entirely dedicated to a single exhibit. Apoxyomenos is a bronze statue of a young athlete found at a depth of 45 meters in 1997. It is the most valuable statue in all of Croatia, about 2,200 years old, and the museum where it is exhibited is unconventional and quite modern, in order to elevate the experience and the visit to the museum to a completely different and unexpected level. After a brief sightseeing tour of the city, we took a break from the warm sun in the Bocca Vera restaurant, which showed us in the best possible way what a city on the sea coast has to offer, and what gastronomic specialties it prepares.
We spent the last evening in the best way; we had an organized dinner and gathering with a representative of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board at the Providenca thematic viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the island, the city, and the surroundings, completed by the sunset. It is definitely worth noting that these young people were staying in Kvarner for the first time and they did not hide their enthusiasm. With this, yet another exceptionally successful promotion of the region as a destination for vacation, entertainment, and top gastronomy was realized, along with the air connectivity of Kvarner with emitting markets.
