Investing in People and Business Begins in Nature – Kuršumlija Awaits You
Posted by TU Events on .
At the invitation of AD Planinka, Kuršumlija hosted representatives of companies and corporate clients, who visited the region at the end of May this year to explore the diverse tourism offerings of the hotels and the destination.
In recent years, Kuršumlija has distinguished itself as an excellent destination offering a wide range of opportunities for team building, corporate benefits, wellness programs, and business events in an authentic natural setting—perfect for fostering team spirit and motivating employees.
On the first day of our stay, we arrived at Kuršumlijska Banja, where we were accommodated at Hotel Planinka. After a short break and refreshments, we toured the hotel with its representatives to get a closer look at the facilities for business meetings, conferences, and corporate events, as well as the extensive employee benefit packages on offer.
Hotel Planinka is exceptionally modern, with facilities that fully meet contemporary hotel standards and the needs of diverse types of travelers. It is often described as “the newest hotel with the longest history,” which is not far from the truth.
A standout feature of the hotel is its modern spa center. Hotel Planinka boasts a complex of eight thermal pools, including indoor, outdoor, combined indoor-outdoor, and children’s pools. What’s particularly interesting is that the thermal water in the pools is further cooled to achieve the optimal temperature for relaxation year-round. Another guest advantage is that all pools are open 24 hours a day, allowing maximum flexibility and enjoyment at any time during the stay.
The hotel also features a medical center where daily check-ups and therapies are conducted, along with saunas, a salt room, an infrared sauna, a cold cave, tepidariums, and other essential modern wellness facilities. Hotel Planinka is also ideal for athlete training, and it even has tennis courts.
After lunch, we took a short walk during which we visited the Water Museum with a guided tour. Later, we enjoyed a wine tasting of Toplice in the pleasant setting of the hotel garden. The rest of the day was dedicated to relaxation—massages, wellness facilities, and all the healing benefits the hotel offers. We concluded the day with a full-board dinner and ended the evening in the best possible way—relaxing in the warm pools, just as is fitting in a spa town.
The second day was reserved for a variety of activities. We visited the Monastery Svetog Nikole, the oldest endowment of the great župan Stefan Nemanja, significant both historically and spiritually. After that, we headed to Prolom Banja, where we toured all the spa facilities and the modern wellness center.
This spa, widely renowned for its famous Prolom Water, has in recent years also attracted attention with its unique beer, brewed using this very healing water. Prolom Beer is a one-of-a-kind product, not available for general sale, and is served exclusively in hotels and hospitality establishments in the region.
A highlight of the activities was the preparation of the traditional pie rednica, organized at a unique location by the Prolomska River, where we also enjoyed lunch. The natural surroundings, the fire, and the sač in this special outdoor setting provided the perfect environment for socializing, bonding, and connecting—a truly memorable experience that we enjoyed firsthand.
We ended the evening with a tasting of the famous Prolom beer and a live music performance at the Prolom Brewery, which added the perfect finishing touch to the day’s unique atmosphere.
On the final day of our stay, we visited Lukovska Banja, the highest spa town in Serbia. We toured Hotel Bela Jela, exploring its spa center and accommodation facilities. The hotel is new, modern, and highly attractive. It also features a medical center where daily medical examinations and therapies are performed, including electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, mud treatments, and manual massages.
We also visited Church of Lazarica, dedicated to Prince Lazar. The origin of this church is linked to the passage of the Serbian army toward Kosovo, when part of the troops received communion at this very site. Interestingly, plums grow in the churchyard that twist around their own axis. According to one legend, the plums twist out of sorrow for Prince Lazar and his soldiers who went to battle, with the twisted branches symbolizing unity and togetherness. Another legend says that the plums twist toward Kosovo, as if following the soldiers who had received communion and passed by.
After some rest, we had the opportunity to enjoy traditional local specialties at the Ethno Restaurant Lukovske Kolibe, where we also concluded the official part of our stay in the destination.
