Slovenian Istria, Both Business and Leisure

As corporate tourism has been attracting more and more attention from tourism organizations, destinations, and hotel groups in recent years, TU Events team recognized the importance of this segment and established cooperation with numerous market-leading companies over the past year.

As the crown of the work done in this field so far, a fam trip to Slovenian Istria was organized last month in cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board and the Love Istria brand, which consists of the tourist boards of Portorož-Piran, Izola, Koper, and Ankaran. Representatives of the companies HTEC Group, Playstudio Europe, TeleGroup, Yandex TX Services, Karanović & Partners, Terra Balka, TX Services, and Galenika joined us on the trip.

Corporate tourism involves the organization of seminars, team buildings, conferences, and congresses. The very conceptualization and organization of such events is quite a demanding process, as a large number of relevant factors must be taken into account in order for everything to be executed in the most efficient manner. Such clients need a space for work and meetings, but also a space for rest with appropriate facilities nearby. However, the hotels we visited in cooperation with the Love Istria brand had everything necessary for this type of business and leisure.

The first destination was Portorož, where we visited the Kempinski Palace Hotel, a true pearl of this part of the Slovenian coast. "Vienna by the Sea," as it is also called, offers a unique blend of luxury and relaxation, along with a space for work and meetings. Its Fleur de Sel restaurant is an excellent opportunity to end a working meeting or day with top-quality wines and gastronomic specialties. On the second day, we visited Piran and, during a leisurely walk, discovered all the facilities available in this beautiful small town and its surroundings. We were accommodated in Hotel Slovenija, which belongs to LifeClass hotels, the center of spa and wellness in Portorož. Lunch was organized in a very interesting place, Na Burji, in the Slovenian hinterland. The road later led us to Izola, where we learned a lot about the history of this charming place. Dinner was organized in the Istrian bistro & Tapas bar restaurant, where, over delicious bites, we discussed the photogenic nature of the small towns we saw.

We continued our tour of Slovenian Istria on the third day in Koper. After a walk and lunch in the beautiful Capra restaurant, we toured all the facilities offered by the Grand Koper hotel. Once again, we briefly left the coast to visit the magical small towns in the hinterland. We visited the towns of Padna and Sveti Petar, after which we headed to Hotel Bernardin, where, alongside a pleasant welcome from the hotel representatives, dinner awaited us in the Sunset restaurant. On the last day, after breakfast, we toured everything Hotel Bernardin can offer corporate clients. Satisfied with what we saw and experienced, we headed back, discussing how Slovenia always knows how to surprise and offer something new, but also how Slovenians are incredibly warm and good hosts. And finally, so that everything doesn't end here, we already have a few more fam trips planned exclusively for corporate representatives whose job description includes deciding on the organization of business trips, conferences, off-site meetings, as well as team buildings for their employees.
