“Love Istria” Brand Promotion for the Media

Slovenian Istria, under the “Love Istria” brand, was presented in Belgrade as an attractive destination for healthy experiences and a region offering top-quality gastronomy.
On the first day of February, a press conference was held at the Twenty Two restaurant, located on the tenth floor of the Metropol Palace hotel in Belgrade, where the “Love Istria” brand was promoted. The event was attended by a large number of Serbian media representatives. The presentation followed the leading tourism event in the region, the TU Sun&Sea Workshop, where forty destinations showcased their summer season to companies and travel agencies.
“Love Istria” is a brand promoting four Istrian destinations: Portorož–Piran, Izola, Koper, and Ankaran. Slovenian Istria is located in the southwestern part of Slovenia, along the Adriatic Sea. It is only one hour’s drive from Ljubljana Airport, one hour from Trieste Airport, and two hours from Venice Airport. In Slovenian Istria, towns and landmarks represent unique historic architecture and stories connected to maritime, fishing, and salt-production traditions. Although the towns are close to each other, each preserves its own charm, offering a distinctive experience.
Representatives of the media, Workshop participants, and other guests were first welcomed on behalf of the “Love Istria” brand by Polona Žigo, PR Manager of the Portorož Tourist Board. She emphasized that although Slovenia has only 46.6 kilometers of Adriatic coastline, this diverse shore and green, hilly hinterland form a region where visitors can experience more excitement than anywhere else. Its coastal towns, connected with locations in the Istrian hinterland, especially during the summer, offer unforgettable sights and the true beauty of the Mediterranean. “We have seaside towns, but also a beautiful green countryside. Our products are sun, sea, and salt, as well as gastronomy, and I hope many people love us precisely for that,” said Polona Žigo.
Journalists were then addressed by Marko Jelić, Sales Manager at the Kempinski Portorož and Adriatic Savudrija hotels, who said that countless stories could be told about Slovenian Istria, but that he would try to briefly present its natural and cultural landmarks, gastronomic treasures, and other outstanding features. He concluded by inviting those present to visit these Istrian towns, learn about their long history, and experience their present and diversity, stressing that the hinterland, with excellent local wines, olives, and the famous Istrian truffles, can also boast a truly unique offering.
